Configuring Watch Folder Problem - LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES

Hi all,

 

I am totally new to this process.

We bought the LiveCycle licensed version 8.2 installed in Linux machine.

LiveCycle PDF Generator ES and LiveCycle Reader Extension ES alone.

The person who installed was resigned from service, so this task has came to me.

 

I have just two question to all of them:

1. Configure the LiveCycle Reader Extension ES.

2. Create Watch folder concents for comment enabling purpose.

 

I have created an watch folder using the Services-->Applications and services-->Archive Management-->Samples - Reader Extensions - ReviewAndCommenting 1.0--> Configure.

 

The the configuring ReviewAndCommenting, "Security" tab "INVOKE_PERM" --> "allows Invocation of all operations on the Service", was checked.

 

Setting-->Trust Store Management-->Local Credentials-->update Credentials-->Reader Extensions Credential

 

Setting-->Trust Store Management-->Certificates-->update Ccertificate-->Trust for Certify Signature Trust for Certificate Authentication Trust for Signature Trust for SSL connections Trust for OCSP Server Trust for Identity

 

Watch folders directory were properly created, when I place a pdf "INPUT" folder its immediately go to failure and .log file was generated.

Batch file to enable for commenting and analysis in Adobe Reader?

I currently have over 18000 GeoPDFs created and want to set up a batch file to enable for commenting and analysis in Adobe Reader?  Can anyone step me through this process?

Full save option

Hello,

 

In a flash application http://livecycleserver:8080/ReaderExtensions, when reader extending document, there is a "full save" checkbox.

 

When using ReaderExtensionsService -> Apply Usage Rights in LC process, there is not "full save" option. This option is also not documented

in ReaderExtensionsOptionSpec : http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/workbenchHelp/help.htm?conte nt=001075.html

 

It seems, that ReaderExtensionsService works by default in the non-full-save mode.

 

Is it somehow possible to configure service operation Apply Usage Rights that it would work the same way as works flash application when Full save is selected ?

Reader Extension License Expired !!!

Hi,

 

I was using trial version of Adobe LiveCycle ES2 and few days back my LiveCycle Reader Extension License got expired. Now Reader Extended Functionality stopped working for all previous modified files. However my LC ES2 is still working.

 

Now my question are :

  • Where should I get the paid license for Reader Extension?
  • Should I have to buy LC ES2 too before using Reader Extension License?

 

I am a developer and LC ES2 would cost me too much. I am not going to use it for myself. Isn't there any developer's version for it ??

Looking for documentation about Reader Extension Server Version 7.2.

a customer does have the reader extension server version 7.2. and wants to know more details about the difference to the actual version of the reader extension server ES2. we do not have any experience with the version 7.2., so does anybody know where to get documentation about the version 72. and what are the big differences to the current version.

empty binaryData by applyUsageRights

Hi,

i use the Quick Start: Applying usage rights using the web service API with Visual Studio 2003.

The funktion applyUsageRights seems to work but i get no usable returndata. The binaryData of the return BLOB is in Debugmode always <undefined value>., the attachmentID is null and remoteURL is "http://localhost:8080/DocumentManager/docm1251117661041/bc8be8c311d29a 136491a99eba33d431?type=YXBwbGljYXRpb24vcGRm"

 

Where is the problem? I have tried an normal pdf-Dokument and pdf-form as input also. Both has the same result.

We have an externally facing form that is reader enables and utilizing LiveCycle forms. We are having an intermittent issue that even when a user has "Display PDF in a broswer" for both Reader and Acrobat, the PDF does not launch in a browser. The form then does not connect to the server. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can't reader extend with a 256-bit encrypted form

I'm using Licycle Server 8.2 and a form built in Designer 9.0, design protected with 256 bit encryption.  When I go to reader extend the file, I am prompted to enter the correct password, I do, but it doesnt unlock.  I am then pompted over and over again to enter the password (see screen shot).

 

Do I have to upgrade the server to 9 in order to reader extend a 256 bit encrypted form?

 

Please someone help

password of TRIAL credentials not found in zip - import fails "MAC Verification failed"

Hi Folks

 

I just installed the "LiveCycle ES" Trial version available as VMWare-image for ESX-Server (which uses JBoss) and tried to import the ReaderExtensions credentials.

The instructions at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/samples/ServiceUsageSampleRe aderExtensionsDynamicallyApplyRights.html say that the password for the pfx file downloaded inside the zip http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_ext_cert is written in the accompanying text file - I can't find any password in the zipped txt-file.

 

When using "password" as password the import fails stating

MacData.MacData: MAC Verification failed -- PKCS #12 contents cannot be read or decoded(error code bin: 259, hex: 0x103)

 

 

 

any help welcome !!!

Webservice: method GET to WSDL url is OK - DocumentError: HTTP 405 on method PUT

Hi Folks

 

I just installed the "LiveCycle ES" Trial  VMWare-image for ESX-Server (which uses JBoss) and tried to call the  ReaderExtensionsServiceClient webservice using the java sample and  always get this exception:

Caused by: com.adobe.idp.DocumentError: 405: HTTP method PUT is not supported by this URL

...

 

I sticked to the adobe webservice client sample as shown in the source below. The sniplet does not show the real IP address.

The WSDL-url works fine for GET in the browser:http://server-ip-address:8080/soap/services/ReaderExtensionsService?wsdl&lc_v ersion=9.0.0

The  services are all activated in the Trial VMWare-image. I did not import  ReaderExtensions credentials, as I was unable to find the view for this  in the AdminUI, but the Trial VMWare-image should have some  ReaderExtensions credentials preinstalled.

 

Any hints welcome what to change to get this working.

Page cann't be found while accessing the url http://localhost:[port]/ReaderExtensions

1.We downloaded the LiveCycle Reader extension credential trial file from the following location

http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/sdk/eula.html

2. We logged in the admin console of the server (click Settings > Trust Store Management > Local Credentials.

3. Click Import and, under Trust Store Type, select Reader Extensions Credential.

4. (Optional) To indicate that this is the default credential to use with Reader Extensions ES2, select Default.

5. An alias name was given for the server.

6. Click Browse to locate the credential, type the password of the credential (Downloaded in step 1), and then click OK.

7. Open a web browser and enter this URL: http://localhost:[port]/ReaderExtensions (where [port] is your application server's port number).

 

After completing all the 6 steps, I tried to access this URL http://localhost:[port]/ReaderExtensions. But it gives an error PAGE CAN NOT BE FOUND.

 

Please let me know why it is happening.

Error "no credential found with alias"

Hi all,

 

    I'm running through an installation of LiveCycle ES with reader extensions.  Everything looks on the up and up, but I'm getting "No credential found with alias" in my logs.  I have the credential from Adobe installed in the livecycle config console with a random alias.  The question is where do I use this alias in my configuration?  I'm using WAS 6.1.

    I've searched the forums for this error and there was mention of it because there are some user permissions issues, but I'm running WAS under my account which is an admin user.

    Any help would be appreciated.

LiveCycle Reader Extensions - Document appears to be invalid...

I’ve created a process to convert XDP files into dynamic PDF (RenderPDF) in LiveCycle ES2. However, when I open the resulting PDF in Reader Extensions (to extend the form manualy) I get the following error message: "This document appears to be invalid. It can not be opened for processing."

Enable spawn pages from template

Hi all,

 

I have a fill-in PDF form (created in Acrobat Pro X) that uses a javascript button to duplicate pages (spawn pages from template).  We got a trial version of LC Reader Extensions ES in order to enable the button to function in Reader.  The problem is, as I understand it, when our evaluation period runs out, the button will stop working in Reader.  Is this true?  The form will be distributed to LESS THAN 500 people- we just want this button to work for everyone.  Is there another way to enable users of Reader to spawn pages from template?

 

I don't believe that purchasing the software is an option, as the Adobe Rep on the phone said it would be $10,000 per form. Any help is greatly appreciated.

LCRE Draft Level

Hi folks,

We've recently acquired Reader Extensions license (with Expiration Date in year 2023 ) for enabling a couple of our newly developed corporate eforms. Those eforms would be distributed to the public for collecting their enrolment of certain public services and the returned forms (or barcode enabled hardcopies) would not be participated to the corporate LCES processes.  I wonder whether there's a difference for enabling our eforms between the two LCES Draft levels for my case? And do you have any idea for whether I can still re-enable my Designer modified eforms after I applied "Final" RE level to the said forms previously?

Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions issue

Hi all,

I have an issue about ARES. When I create a PDF file and use password to secure the document and “Changes Allowed” is set as “Commenting, filling in form fields, and signing existing signature fields”, the commenting doesn’t work and display the error as below:

Warning: JavaScript Window-

This document is not enabled for review in Adobe Reader. You must use Adobe Acrobat to review this document.

Other documents which is not set password security can be commented normally. Please give me some advices.

Any idea will be appreciated!

I wanted to understand if it is possible to integrate Adobe Reader Extension Server (ARES) with a 3rd Party Solution which does not have the capability to generate a PDF document which can be Filled up and Saved locally and /or transmitted using eFax or email?

 

Will this kind of an integration lend the 3rd party solution an ability to generatte Fillable PDF which can be saved and transmitted?

I am attempting to apply usage rights to several forms but I keep receiving the same error.

 

The Reader Extensions ES2 software applies the usage rights fine, I click on "download" and locate the drive I wish to save on. The downloading bar appears and after a few second I get the following error:

 

Application Alert

 

The file could not be saved.

Are you sure you want to lose your results?

 

It does not matter if I chose a network drive or my local PC. The error is the same.

 

Any ideas on what may be causing this? Has anyone else had this issue.
